In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.
– John 5:3
I’ve read this passage many times over the last 20 years. Every time I read it I am struck by the very same thing. A multitude of sick people was lying around the Pool of Bethesda “waiting for the moving of the water,” all the while the well of Living Water (Jesus) was actively healing multitudes, as they came seeking His grace and power.
I wonder how many people still miss the power and grace of Christ today because their focus, and hope, is on something other than Jesus.
