Revelation 6
Devotional
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”
– Revelation 6:10
This is a striking question of justice. The Apostle John receives a vision of the souls of the faithful martyrs in heaven. There before the throne of God they ask, “How long until we receive justice?” Considering the rampant injustice we witness on a daily basis in a fallen world, it’s an honest question. But if anything, the Book of Revelation reveals the justice of Jesus.
The day of His just wrath, against all unrighteousness, will come. It is a sobering thought.
Today’s goal
Be thankful that God is gracious and slow to anger. Ask God to enable you to be the same.
