Matthew 6
Devotional
“In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
– Matthew 6:9-13
Prayer was a vital part of Jesus’ life and ministry here upon the earth. If the Messiah; the Son of God, needed to spend time in regular prayer, then there is no doubt that you and I do too. Jesus wanted His disciples to follow His example, so He took time to teach them (i.e. Us) a model or method for prayer. That’s what Matthew 6:9-13 is.
Today’s Goal
Take 5 uninterrupted minutes and pray to your Father in heaven. At the very least, you can thank God it’s Friday.
Have a Great Weekend!
