As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
– Acts 13:2
The work of the ministry is work, like many other forms of work. But it’s also a calling. God calls and appoints individuals to the work of the ministry. Which means, ministers don’t appoint themselves. Sure, there have been people that have set out to do the work with out the calling, but at some point it becomes evident that such individuals were not called of God to the task.
He who desires the position, desires a good thing (1 Timothy 3:1). But make sure that good thing is God’s thing for you!
