Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”

– John 19:11

Pontius Pilate was the most powerful man in all of Judea, and yet he was outright taken aback by the authoritative word of this Jew from Galilee… “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above.” Jesus is the King of kings, and like it or not, Pilate knew that Jesus had true power.
