1 Corinthians 8
Devotional
But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.
– 1 Corinthians 8:9
This is one of the most practical exhortations as it relates to disputed practices for Christians. In our day the most notable (disputed practice) would likely be that of alcohol consumption.
The Bible does not explicitly forbid alcohol, though it does condemn drunkenness. Therefore, many have and do defend their liberty, in Christ, to partake of it. But such a liberty must always be exercised with a measure of caution, so as to not deliberately cause a weaker individual to stumble.
