2 Corinthians 7
Devotional
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
– 2 Corinthians 7:10
Guilt is not a bad thing if guilt produces the proper response in the guilty. The progression of godly induced sorrow in guilt is repentance leading to salvation (and restoration). Thus, if you feel the pressure of guilt and sorrow, and you are driven to turn confessionally from the (sinful) thought, word or deed that has produced the guilt in the first place, then it is a godly sorrow that will ultimately bring salvation.
