For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
– 2 Corinthians 8:9
The Apostle Paul here gives a spectacular description of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. What is grace? It is sacrificially bankrupting yourself for the sake of another who is completely underserving of your gift. For our sakes, He became poor, that we might become rich.
The old acrostic of GRACE pictures it well. What is GRACE? It is God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.
