Devotional
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
– 1 Timothy 2:3-4
God our Savior desires all men to be saved! This is essentially important where gospel proclamation is concerned. God’s desire is that none with perish (2 Peter 3:9), that all would come to repentance, that all would come to the knowledge of the truth and experience the salvation for which Christ died.
To this end, we are exhorted to pray for all (v. 1). Pray for the salvation of all men (that is, humanity).
