Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained.
– 2 Timothy 2:8-9
I think that we, more than just about anyone, at any time in Christian history, need to remember that Jesus is the Messiah, that He is of royal descent through King David, that He rose again from the dead, just as His early followers preached, even though they subjected to troubling suffering and ultimate martyrdom for their witness. That gospel needs to be unchanged.
