so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Jesus is the arbiter of a better covenant than that which the Old Testament priests mediated. He offered Himself once to deal with all sin at all time. Therefore, through Him (alone) is salvation.
