Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.

– Titus 3:1-2

The “them” Paul refers to are the Christians of Crete, over whom Titus presided. What then did early Christian elders instruct there churches in? Very practical Christian values. Submit to authorities, be obedient, do good works, don’t gossip, don’t fight, be patient and humble to all. These are the high value targets we should be aiming at.
