Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
– James 3:5
For several years my wife has been instilling in our young children some important truths. One of which our older daughter was caught reminding her siblings of this last week, “Our hands are to be used for gentleness and kindness and our words are to be used for encouragement and love.” When I heard one of my kids this morning being harsh with his words I asked him, “What are our words to be used for?” He smiled and responded, “Encouragement and love.”
Words are powerful. This political season has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the young—thought little—boasts great things, and can cause extreme devastation. Good things to be mindful of.
