When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
– Revelation 8:1
The overwhelmingly awesome chorus of worship by the innumerable multitude in Revelation 5 and 7 now curiously ceases. The seventh seal is opened and “there was silence in heaven for about a half an hour.”
There are varied interpretations as to the cause of this epic silence. All our commentary is mere speculation, but the breaking of the seventh seal brings such awe in heaven that utter silence is the result.
