Matthew 11
Devotional
“And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”
– Matthew 11:6
How do you respond when your expectations are not met? What do you do when God doesn’t do what you wanted or thought He should?
John the Baptist expected a certain kind of Messiah. He anticipated a different outcome than that which he ultimately faced. Jesus wasn’t rising up as John (and others) hoped he would.
Jesus’ word to John was encouraging and cutting at the same time. “John, are you offended? Are you upset that I haven’t come as you’d hoped I would? Blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”
