Mark 9
Devotional
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
– Mark 9:23-24
The word for “child” here is a Greek word that speaks of a “young child.” As I was putting my youngest down for bed tonight (he’s 3 and a half) I thought about the tears through which this man cried out to Jesus, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” I can only imagine the fear and pain he felt as he looked upon his son whom he loved.
Jesus hears our cries and records our tears, and He answers the simple prayer, “Help my unbelief!”
