Luke 20
Devotional
“Show Me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?” They answered and said, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
– Luke 20:24-25
The money they presented bore the image of Caesar. Therefore Jesus proclaimed, “Render unto Caesar that which bears his image.”
I wonder if the devout interrogators were reminded in that moment what in this world bears God’s image.
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
– Genesis 1:27
