“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
– John 3:14-15
The great teacher, Nicodemus was utterly stalemated by Jesus’ declaration, “You must be born again.” Every circuit in his brain shorted as he tried to wrap his mind around this concept. But Jesus, whom John 1 said is “full of grace and truth” graciously took the time to express and explain this foreign concept to Nicodemus.
“How can these things be?” How can one be born again? How can one have life by the Spirit?
“Just as Moses lifted up the serpent … even so the Son of Man will be lifted up, so that whoever trusts in Him will be born again unto eternal life!”
