After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.
– John 7:1
Today is the commemoration of the day on which this desire of the religious leaders of Israel was realized. Today is Good Friday.
Throughout much of His ministry, the religious leaders sought to Put Jesus to death. But it wasn’t until that fateful morning on which the crowds cried with one voice, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”
Yes, they sought to kill Him. But your sin, and mine, are what nailed Him to the cross.
