Then, as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers about what had become of Peter.
– Acts 12:18
This is what we refer to as a “Biblical understatement.” “there was no small stir among the soldiers” when they got up the next morning to find that their prisoner was not in prison any longer. Though, if you read Acts 5 again you’ll remember that this wasn’t the first time that this had happened.
