1 Corinthians 1
Devotional
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
– 1 Corinthians 1:10
In writing to the Ephesians Paul exhorted, “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Here again to the Corinthians Paul’s call is much the same.
These words are (perhaps) more important today, than they were 2,000 years ago. There are certainly more divisions in the body of Christ now then there were then. Oh that God would grace us with the gentle humility and patience to join together for the evangelization of a world in desperate need of the very gospel that makes us one in Him.
