Devotional

We observe Jesus in this passage interacting with people in ways that were totally out of place for His day and culture.

He touches an unclean leper, to bring healing. He interacts with and commends the faith of a Gentile, Roman centurion. He touches an individual of the the opposite sex (Peter’s mother-in-law) who was not related to Him. He associates with the demon possessed to bring deliverance.

Jesus understood that the work of the Kingdom was bigger than the cultural ins and outs of His day. I think there’s an important lesson here for us in our day.
