John 13 – The Listening Plan

Devotional

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

– John 13:1

I think it’s worth a reminder that Jesus did not stumble into the events of His passion. They didn’t come upon Him or happen to Him like an unexpected diagnosis or accident might with us. Jesus knew that the hour of His departure had come. He was well aware of what was shortly about to befall Him.

In the same way, Jesus knows what is about to come into your life today, or this week. God through Jeremiah said, “I know the plans I have for you.” Even though you might stumble into the events of this week. Though a crisis or challenge might come into your life or happen to you, our God knows and has a plan for you in it.
