And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

The casting of lots was clearly used regularly under the Old Covenant, but as far as I can tell this is the only time we see it used under the New. Clearly, the indwelling power and presence of the Holy Spirit we so wonderfully enjoy as New Covenant saints is far more effectual, and a much greater blessing, than following God by the casting of lots.
