Acts 10
Devotional
Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.”
Acts 10:34-35
This statement from Peter has been much discussed and even debated by scholars, theologians, and commentators. It challenges the soteriology of some. What does it mean that God accepts those who “fear Him and work righteousness” in every nation? At the very least it means that God is not an acceptor of only one select group of people. His heart and arms are open to all who come to Him by faith.
