But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.

– Acts 5:29

Again, the boldness of the Apostles, as empowered by the Spirit, is a great encouragement. The same Apostles that had fled, denying that they even knew Christ, now stand before the religious ruling body and steadfastly declare, “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

There may very well come a day in which the church will once again need to stand with steadfast boldness by the Spirit, declaring to the religious secularists of our day, “We will obey God rather than man.”
