And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

– 1 Corinthians 6:11

It is easy for us to get hung-up on the list of sins in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Those unrighteous acts that exclude practitioners of such things from access and entrance to God’s Kingdom. But when reading the sin list we must never forget that “such were some of us.” But by God’s grace we’ve been justified and cleansed. In the same way, those still walking in unrighteousness are prime candidates for the washing and regeneration of the Spirit.
