Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

– 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

I am grateful that God, our Father, is called the “Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.” There is comfort simply in this! He does not just comfort us. He is the God of all comfort, and as such He “comforts us in all our tribulation. But don’t miss that we then, in turn, are to be a comfort to others, with the comfort with which we ourselves have been comforted by God.
