Devotional

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

– 1 Corinthians 13:4

I am truly grateful that the evidence of God’s presence in our lives (i.e. the fruit of the Spirit) is — chiefly — love. And that love is patient and kind. Which means, God is patient and kind. Of course, that’s not a new revelation in 1 Corinthians 13. It’s clear all the way back in Exodus 34:4-6.

I have a difficult time, in and of my own strength, being patient and kind. But I am grateful that God, working in me by His holy Spirit, is able to produce patience and kindness.
