Galatians 2
Devotional
“For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
– Galatians 2:18
Are there things in your life that you’ve given up for Christ? Are there liberties that you’ve sacrificed? If so, do not go back. Don’t return to those things you’ve laid down in devotion to Him!
In Psalm 15 King David asks the question, “LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?” After meditation on that question David gives a series of answers in verses 2-5. One of the answers David gives is, “He who swears to his own hurt and does not change.” There are more than a few interpretations on this, but I think (at least) one way to understand it is to say, if there are things you’ve sacrificed in devotion to Christ, press on, even if the commitment to do so is in some ways painful.
