For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
– Titus 2:11
Sometimes we can think that we already know this, but it is necessary to remind ourselves (I think) continually, that the grace of God brings salvation. I say that, because, even if you think you know this, there are a myriad of ways in which we can stray from this essential truth. The issue is that we can know it to be true, but live as if it isn’t. I know this, because a lot of Christians often live in a state of constant discouragement, feeling they either don’t do enough good works, or that they do too many bad.
Sure, we could do more good works, and it wouldn’t hurt to do less bad, but our standing with God is not determined by the good works we do, or the bad works we don’t. So remember, the grace of God brings salvation.
