Mark 6
Devotional
So they went out and preached that people should repent.
– Mark 6:12
The message of John the Baptist (Matthew 3:2) was the same as the message of Jesus (Matthew 4:17), which then became the message of the early disciples. It was the message Petter preached at Pentecost. It was the message that Paul gave upon his conversion in Damascus, in Jerusalem, in Judea, and then among the gentiles, too (Acts 26:20).
Jesus’ commissioning words in Luke still stand today, “Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” (Luke 24:46-47).
