Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

– Luke 16:14-15

Paul wrote that the love of money “is a root of all kinds of evil” (1 Tim. 6:10). Money has a strong allure. It entices many to pursue and be devoted to it (both expressions of ‘love’). We must guard our hearts from being enticed by the seductive charm of money, which seems almost more pronounced in our modern social media saturated environment.
