Luke 2
Devotional
“Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace,
According to Your word;
For my eyes have seen Your salvation
Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of Your people Israel.”– Luke 2:29-32
Simeon was a man of great faith, and patience. He was just, and devout, and he waited—likely for a very long time—to see the Christ-child, as it had been revealed to him he would. Great faith is often tested by long waits. But those who wait upon the Lord will not be ashamed.
