“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
– John 14:18
We have, and must trust in the sure word of Christ when we are tempted to believe that we are orphaned and alone. There are times in which we question, “Where is God in this?” Even Christ on the cross cried, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me.” Those words are jarring. And the feeling of being forsaken and alone is all the more disorienting. But God’s word to us is “I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Josh. 1:5).
