John 15
Devotional
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
– John 15:8
In Galatians 5 Paul writes of the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, kindness, etc.). God’s desire is that you and I bear these, and many other God glorifying ‘fruits’ in our lives. The primary, and most effective way to bear much fruit is to (1) abide in the vine (Jesus), and (2) allow the vinedresser to prune out of your life those branches that are hindering your fruitfulness. Pruning is a painful process, and abiding is not always easy. But glorifying God by bearing much fruit is perhaps the greatest privilege and joy to be found in life.
