John 16 – The Listening Plan

Devotional

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

– John 16:33

For a long time this has been a favorite verse of mine. I like that Jesus speaks very honestly with His followers. He doesn’t blow smoke, saying, “Everything is going to be great in the world when you follow Me.” He speaks truth! In this world you will have tribulation. But He has overcome the world, and has promised to receive us unto Himself in the end. Therefore, if we abide in Him, we will experience His peace, in the midst of any and every trial, tribulation, or storm.
