Devotional

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

– Luke 23:34

Christ, on the cross, prayed prayers of forgiveness for those that beat, mocked, and ultimately crucified Him. I would pray for such individuals too. But I’m quite sure they would be more like the imprecatory prayers of the Psalms, than the forgiving prayers of our Lord. But even now I am grateful that His prayers were prayers of grace toward those who gave none.
