Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.
– Acts 16:10
I’ve always loved the way that this verse was constructed by Luke. Clearly, at this moment in Paul’s second missionary journey, Luke was a traveling companion and co-laborer with Paul (notice his use of “we”). But also fascinating is the way in which Paul saw a vision, and the team (Paul, Silas, Timothy, and Luke) concluded that the Lord had called them (“us”) to preach the gospel in Macedonia.
God certainly works in and through individuals, but often God calls a team to work for the furtherance of His Gospel and Kingdom.
