And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

– 1 Corinthians 6:11

After rehearsing a long list of damnable sins, Paul writes, “And such were some of you.” May we never lose sight of the fact that prior to God’s saving grace transforming our natures, we were dead in trespasses and sin. But we have been washed, sanctified, and justified in Christ and by the Spirit.
