So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
– Romans 14:12
Are you prepared to one day stand before God, and give an account of yourself to Him? If that strikes even an inkling of fear or pause in your mind and heart, you need to prayerfully consider a few things.
First, do you know God as Father? Or are you relating to Him as Judge? Don’t misunderstand. God is revealed in the Scriptures as a judge. But, if you have trusted in Christ for salvation, then God is your Father, and you are His child.
Second, are you restless about the prospect of standing before Him to give an account, because you have been halfhearted or lukewarm in your commitment to Him? Do not be indifferent in your walk. It is not a casual thing to which we have been called. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).
Third, if you are reading this, your life isn’t over … you’re still alive. It’s time to reengage in the work, wholeheartedly! God has gifted you with energy, assets, time, talents, gifts, etc. Be a good steward of the resources that God has given you. Our desire is to one day hear Him say, “Well done good and faithful servant…”
