Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),
– Galatians 3:13
As the Christian continues to experience the effects of the fall, through indwelling sin, and our broken nature, we need to be reminded that Christ has redeemed us. His redemptive work was accomplished when He said “It is finished” and it is (fully) effective in my life, immediately upon conversion. The curse of law (and the stain of sin and death) no longer have the same power in my life, after I have trusted in Jesus. Because He carried the curse upon (and in) Himself upon the cross.
