“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

– Galatians 2:20

I hardly have anything more to add. This verse stands alone as important truth, which is worth memorizing and meditating upon.

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

– Galatians 1:8

Paul’s strong words to a church that was actively being led astray by false teaching is an important reminder to us that we must know the true Gospel well. And how do you get to know it well? Read it. And reread it. Wash, rinse, repeat!

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

– 2 Corinthians 13:5

In much the same way, the Apostle Peter wrote, “Brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure” (2 Peter 1:10). This is an important practice that every Christian should know well. And what are the benchmarks of faith that should be evident? Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). The fruit of the Spirit—or the evidence that God’s Spirit is in you—is love.

And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

– 2 Corinthians 11:14

Because of this simple revelation, we ought always be on guard against the cunning craftiness of our adversary.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

– 2 Corinthians 10:4

In Ephesians 6, Paul alludes to the weapons of our warfare. There are, it seems, two of them. The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, and prayer. At first glance, they may appear to be insignificant. But they are “mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” Don’t underestimate the power of God’s word and prayer.

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

– 2 Corinthians 9:7

If you are not able to give with the joy of a cheerful giver, then it begs the question of whether or not you truly comprehend the greatness of all that God has done for you in Christ. By His love He poured out the riches of His grace upon us in abundance. And when we begin to recognize that greatness of His grace, it compels us to give joyfully.

Christ gave all so that you and I could be made right with our Father. He who knew no sin, became sin for us, to make us righteous.

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

– 2 Corinthians 7:10

When God’s love and grace, demonstrated on the cross, move our hearts to sorrow, the result is confession and repentance. And when God sees a penitent heart, He moves toward it with more mercy, grace, forgiveness, and compassion.

And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”

– 2 Corinthians 6:16

The living God dwells in you, by His Holy Spirit. Since this is true, He desires that our lives (His temple) be purged of any and all things that would offed Him. Of course, none of us will every measure up to a standard of perfect holiness. But our aim ought to be Christlikeness.
