Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

– Jude 2

On this Thanksgiving Day, may God’s mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you, too. And may you have the opportunity today to bless God, by praising His name and giving thanks, publicly with your family and friends.

Rejoice in the Lord always!

Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

– Jude 1:2

If you cannot find the words to pray for me, or another person in your life that you feel lead to pray for, you might want to begin with this simple blessing. “May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied.” It may be a very simple prayer, but it’s a good one.

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

– Jude 1:20-21

Our focus and goal is clear. As Christians we are to continue to strengthen our faith, pray always and maintain our place and position in the love of God. All the while we are expectantly looking for and to the mercy of our Lord.

Eternal life is our future. It’s set and secure. Now, keep yourself in the Love of God!

Devotional

I don’t know if there is a more jam-packed book in the whole Bible. Perhaps that’s because this one is only 25 verses in 1 chapter.

Jude was a half-brother of Jesus, though he doesn’t mention that in his writing. He wasn’t a name-dropper, I think there’s a lesson there. But Jude was also not a believer or disciple until after his half-brother, Jesus rose from the dead. Sometimes people need to spend a lot of time around Jesus before they are convinced of who He really is.

There are a lot of challenging words and ideas in this short letter, and some strange references too. But the challenge given by Jude 2,000 years ago is still amazingly relevant today.

Today’s goal

Let your non-believing friends and family spend time seeing Jesus in your life.
